Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme

ESOS is a mandatory energy assessment and savings identification scheme. It’s set by the Environment Agency to help make UK businesses more sustainable by recognising and reducing carbon based fuel usage.

Our qualified team of specialised Lead Assessors have been officially appointed by the governing body to carry out these compulsory audits and support businesses at whatever level is appropriate.

Why choose BrightSourced Energy?

We have helped thousands of businesses increase their profitability and competitiveness by identifying cost-effective savings and improving their energy efficiency.

We cannot only offer the quickest and most cost effective route to compliance but we also give each of our client’s exclusive access to our specially designed Energy Module Software – GAGA, which gives clients access to a plethora of energy reports. Phase 1

The ESOS Phase 1 compliance deadline passed in December 2015, yet many companies are still yet to comply.

If you qualify for ESOS Phase 1 and haven’t yet taken action, the Environment Agency (EA) will have likely been in touch with either a compliance note or an enforcement action notice. Failure to submit the compliance assessments can, in some cases, result in a fixed penalty of anything from £5,000 – £90,000.

You will likely qualify to participate in the scheme if –

  • You have 250+ employees
  • The organisations turnover is more than £42.5m
  • Or you have a balance sheet of more than £36.5m

The good news is it’s not too late to take action and here at BrightSourced Energy, our dedicated team of Lead Assessors can offer a complete service helping you achieve compliance, reduce your energy costs and target energy waste in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Phase 2

ESOS phase 2 – are you ready?

With the deadline for qualification not until 31st December 2018 and submissions due by Thursday 5th December 2019 why start worrying about it now?

During Phase 1 of the scheme over 2,500 businesses experienced holdups and had to send in notifications advising that they would be late in reporting compliance, which ultimately resulted in costly fines.

Our experienced team of Lead Assessors understands these challenges and can help you avoid some of the holdups, unnecessary delays and potential fines and assess whether you are required to participate in ESOS Phase 2.
