As one of the founders and co-CEO of the BrightSourced Holdings Group ltd, Richard has utilised his vast experience of Procurement, Strategic Consulting and General Management to help build and run BrightSourced from inception to the successful business it has become today.
Richard also assumes the role of CEO of BrightSourced Procurement on a day to day basis.
Richard has helped lead successful acquisitions/mergers, as well as investment fund raising rounds throughout his career. More recently completing the acquisition of The Utility Forum and merger with Bank Brokers – www.bankbrokers.co.uk.
Having worked alongside and developed excellent relationships with companies such as Walmart, Poundland, Wilkos and the NHS, Richard understands the challenges and operational business requirements of complex businesses. He has significant experience in providing innovative and sustainable procurement solutions for his clients. From global procurement and supply chain, through to eSourcing, spend analysis and market intelligence, Richard has overseen over 1000 procurement projects on behalf of the companies he has worked for, and the clients he has served.
Richard gained his first experience of purchasing in blue chip food retail. Since that time his career has spanned senior procurement roles within food distribution companies such as Bidvest and the Compass Group, as well as Operations Director and Managing Director roles within global procurement consultancies operating in the UK, US and Far East.
Richard has a successful track record of business growth and thrives in a fast-paced business environment. He likes to spend his spare time with his wife and two sons along with his loyal labrador Barney. He loves being outdoors – either sailing or camping – and he is also an accomplished tennis player and golfer.

Following the acquisition of The Utility Forum (renamed BrightSourced Energy) in 2017, Simon also takes the role as CEO of BrightSourced Energy.

Having worked alongside companies such as Walmart, Morrisons, Barratt Homes, The Royal Sun Alliance and the NHS, delivering outsourced enterprise procurement solutions, Simon understands the business requirements of these audiences and is able to create commercial solutions to meet both his customers and his business’s needs.
With a career spanning energy trading, procurement and IT services, Simon is an expert in devising commercial strategies to help organisations deliver fast revenue growth and profitability. Simon has also worked with VC backed businesses to help structure and deliver aggressive global growth plans, which led to several businesses successfully being sold into FTSE and Fortune 100 corporations.
Simon is an accomplished leader and an entrepreneur, and thrives in a fast-paced business environment. He is also kept busy with his three energetic children, as well as a self-confessed adrenaline sports junky and marathon runner.
Neil Fillbrook FCII
Neil joined BrightSourced as a Non-Executive Director in April 2017 further strengthening the existing Board.
In addition Neil is the Managing Director of Bank Brokers UK and a Group Board Executive for the Holdings Company in Sweden.
Bank Brokers offers banking-related procurement services to companies across Europe and beyond, meaning together BrightSourced can now offer an end-to-end procurement proposition, which is unique in the market.
After 24 years as an international executive with HSBC, Neil left the bank in 2013 to set up Bank Brokers in the UK. Neil’s previous roles included Global Head of Premier, based in HK and Head of Premier & Wealth Management across Europe, based in Paris.
Neil is a Fellow of The Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurer and is qualified in Project Management by the British Computer Society.
In his spare time he likes getting out and about with his labrador “Chow”. He also enjoys carp fishing and is a keen runner.
